'Mir' presents hushed psych-folk reveries, built of wide-eyed, welcoming tunings, playful echoing instrumentation, and honeyed choral deliveries. Surprising walls of experimental sound keep it even more interesting. A couple of acts came to mind when hearing this: Wickerbird, Yo La Tengo, Paavoharju, and the equally obscure Rocks and Waves Song Circle. But 'Mir' has a brilliance all its own. A must listen!
